Jolleen Dick

CEO, Valley Chamber of Commerce

Jolleen Dick is the CEO of the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce and took on the role in April of 2023. Her Nuu-chah-nulth name is suuwayaqawilth, meaning “somebody that holds something precious for safekeeping.” Growing up on Vancouver Island in her home territories of the Hupačasath First Nation in the Alberni Valley, Jolleen was raised with strong Nuu-chah-nulth teachings and values, which she integrates into her work to emphasize connection and relationship-building.

She is no stranger to the Chamber of Commerce as her journey in tourism, economic development, and community building began there as her first job providing visitor information. This experience laid the foundation for her passion and interest in these fields and acquiring a Bachelor of Tourism Management Degree. After university, she returned to the Alberni Valley to serve Hupačasath First Nation in a communications role and served two terms as an Elected councillor.

Jolleen brings extensive experience in advocacy, policy development, and pioneering new challenges. Networking and building relationships with peers, the public, government, and stakeholders are her strengths. In her free time, she loves shopping at local farmers markets and reading a good book (send recommendations!)
