Kevin Somerville graduated from UBC in 1991 with a BSc in Forest Resources Management and is a Registered Professional Forester. Kevin’s has worked in various locations up and down Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and the Coast of British Columbia. He began his career in Forestry, Planning and Operational Supervision and has managed several Timberlands locations from 2002 through 2014 before transitioning to the manufacturing side of the industry. He has had oversite at of seven different sawmills and numerous secondary and value added processing facilities on the coast of BC.

Kevin’s broad skillset in Forestry and Manufacturing and capital investment was a welcome addition in 2021 to San Group’s expanded business interests. As Vice President of Operations, his responsibilities include: Government and First Nations relations; securing fibre supply for San’s market interests; the daily operations at San’s three sawmills and the Port Alberni Value-Added facility; and the distribution of raw materials and finished products. Kevin’s background, skillset and leadership is an essential component as the San team navigates its way through the current challenges facing the industry in the province of British Columbia.
