Matt Keras is a highly skilled Lead Project Manager and Operations Specialist with over 26 years of experience in the steel, welding, and manufacturing industries. A proud member of the Sts'Ailes First Nation, he has a diverse background in welding, millwrighting, design, project management, and business development. Currently serving as the Project Manager for Canadian Maritime Engineering (CME) in Port Alberni, Matt Keras is overseeing the Canal Beach Shipyard Expansion project. Throughout his career, he has led numerous large-scale projects across the United States and internationally, including work in South America, China, and Korea. His extensive leadership experience includes managing projects, teams, and government tenders, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions and driving business growth. As a former Project Manager and Shop Foreman at UAS Canada Inc., Matt Keras also played a key role in research and development and executing capital projects. His expertise spans multiple industries, and his work has taken him to various countries, highlighting his global perspective. With a deep commitment to Indigenous economic development and community engagement, Matt Keras has been an active participant in industry and First Nations-focused conferences, including NABOC, Cando, RES Summit, and ABCMI. As he relocates to Port Alberni, he continues to leverage his global experience and technical expertise to lead impactful projects and foster sustainable growth.
