Zoran Knezevic is a marine transportation professional with a combined 25 years of progressive experience, who has used his hands-on positive leadership to effectively manage one of the largest container terminals in Canada. Zoran started his marine career at an early age, working on various merchant trading vessels, including commercial and passenger ferries, bulk carriers, container vessels and general cargo vessels. He holds a bachelor's degree in Nautical Science and has Unlimited Master Mariner certification.

Zoran moved to Canada in 1992. Since then, he has worked as an Operations Superintendent at the Cast Terminal-Montreal Gateway Terminals, as an Operations Manager at Terminal Systems Inc. Deltaport in Vancouver and as the Harbour Towage Manager at SMIT Marine Canada in Vancouver. Throughout his professional years, Zoran has fostered positive relationships with various Government Agencies and has also worked as an Industry Consultant, with focused expertise on operational efficiencies within the container transport industry, new terminal development and design.

In July of 2012, Zoran joined the Port Alberni Port Authority as President &CEO, he has led his team to several landmark results and has succeeded in positioning the Port as a diverse business incubator, encouraging sustainable economic growth, enhancing food security and contributions to the Blue Economy. Zoran is passionate about shipping, the Port Alberni community, and all of Vancouver Island in its entirety, continuously striving to create sustainable and impactful developments in the region.
