As a fully serviced island in the Pacific, Vancouver Island has multiple ways to cross the Straight to enjoy a taste of the good life.
We have international, regional, and commuter airports throughout Vancouver Island. Nanaimo (YCD) and Comox (YQQ) are international airports, with regularly scheduled flights on WestJet and Air Canada to many big cities. The Tofino (YAZ) regional airport is just a few hours from Port Alberni, and regular seaplane service with Pacific Seaplanes and KD Air arrive and depart from the Centennial Pier Seaplane facility in downtown Port Alberni.
Vancouver Island has regular sailings to and from Vancouver, via the Tsawwassen terminal on the south end of Vancouver, and from Horseshoe Bay to the northwest. Operated by BC Ferries, the Tsawwassen terminal connects the mainland to Swartz Bay, in Victoria, and Duke Point, in south Nanaimo. The Horseshoe Bay ferry travels between Vancouver and central Nanaimo.
